I wrote a picture book after years of storytelling to my own kids. Now exploring book publishers feels overwhelming and honestly, frightening. A fellow author lost her illustration rights completely. I want real experienced voices which children's book publishers did you choose, how did they handle creative control? What did contracts actually look like, and what would you seriously warn another parent-author about today?
